PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Charley, Lakeside slug Wallace
PLUMMER — Junior Tyson Charley had 30 of his game-high 40 points in the first half as the Lakeside Knights beat the Wallace Miners 107-43 in the season and Scenic Idaho Conference opener for both schools at Ron Miller Court on Monday.
Charley, who also had nine assists and seven steals, scored 17 points in the first quarter.
“We came out a bit sluggish, but midway through the first quarter, we found our stride,” Lakeside coach James Twoteeth said. “We pressed them a little bit and forced some turnovers.”
Junior Hallah Peone had 27 points and 10 assists for Lakeside, which hosts Lapwai on Wednesday.
Sophomore Emmitt Myles scored 12 points, senior Julian Davis 10 points for Wallace, which hosts Timberlake in the opening round of the Silver Valley Tournament on Friday at Kirby Krulitz Court.
