Former Press reporter Madison Hardy will be working in Washington, D.C.

Hardy, who has been Gov. Brad Little's press secretary for two years, recently started her new job as communications director for U.S. Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho.

Little said he was "deeply grateful to Madison Hardy for working so hard as Press Secretary in my office for the past two years. I have a lot of confidence in her abilities and am happy for her as she continues to serve Idaho in the Office of Senator Risch.”

The former Press reporter covered all things Kootenai County with an emphasis on political news, from June 2020 until December 2021.

She worked as a reporter with KIVI-TV in Boise, and she completed a legislative internship for the McClure Center for Public Policy Research through the School of Journalism and Mass Media at the University of Idaho.

Joan Varsek, a member of Little’s staff since 2019, was promoted to press secretary.
