COEUR d’ALENE — Coeur d’Alene senior Grant Potter, who has verbally committed to Boise State, shot a 3-under par 69 to earn medalists honors in the Lake City Invitational at Coeur d’Alene Golf Club on Thursday.
Freshman Ella Wilson of Coeur d’Alene shot a 3-over 75 to earn girls medalist honors for the Vikings, who shot a school record 309, passing the previous low of 315 at the Dizzy Bird Invitational at Circling Raven Golf Club in Worley on Sept. 14, 2023.
“The kids played outstanding today,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Lake said. “We’ve still got a few things to clean up out there.”
Lake City’s Tanner Collins shot a 76, Luke Mason a 77 and Corbin Jacobson 78 to pace the Timberwolf boys.
“I really thought all the boys played well,” Lake City boys coach Kelly Reed said. “Tanner has had some bumps lately, but played a great round today. Both Luke and Corbin have been super solid all year and steady.”
Area teams will compete in the Moscow Invitational next Thursday at the University of Idaho Golf Course.
