Human rights banquet set for Sept. 28

The 25th annual Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations Human Rights Banquet is scheduled Sept. 28. 

The keynote speaker will be Cheryl Brown Henderson, the daughter of lead plaintiff Rev. Oliver L. Brown, in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case with the United States Supreme Court striking down legalized segregation in America.

The 25th KCTFHR Civil Rights Award will be presented to the Coeur d’Alene Tribe during a special ceremony at the banquet at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn. 

Tickets are $55, silver tables are $600 and gold tables are $1,000. Registration deadline is Sept. 24.
