MY TURN: Support Israel
Hello North Idaho Friends,
My name is Kurt Salisbury, I’m with CUFI (Christians United for Israel) here in North Idaho.
I live in Hayden Lake and have been involved with CUFI for the last few years in Idaho. Recently, I attended the CUFI emergency fly-in to Washington, D.C. Our aim was to raise attention for Israel regarding the, now recently passed, $28 plus billion Israel aid package.
It was a privilege to speak to our Representative Russ Fulcher’s office and the office of Congressman Mike Simpson. Their votes and support for our ally Israel in this critical time were pivotal in passing this bill for our Jewish friends.
The attention of the world is focused on war in the Middle East and the many Pro-Palestinian protests at U.S. universities including New York’s Columbia University, which seems to be the epicenter. How can we as Bible-believing Christians stand with Israel and encourage our Jewish friends, as well as tell our community we love and support the Nation of Israel?
During our quick meeting in D.C. I heard many stories of hate for anyone who stands with Israel. I heard from two pastors, one in Moscow, who was assaulted at the local Winco for wearing a shirt with Hebrew writing and another in southern Idaho who had his Israeli flags broken off in his front yard. For me, I have flown an Israeli flag since the infamous attacks Oct. 7 and worn an “I Stand with Israel” pin on many occasions. To be honest, most days I am expecting some sort of backlash, but thankfully to this point, nothing has happened.
All this to say, if you would like to meet, or if I can help support Israel in any way in your local church please reach out. I would love to talk about my numerous trips to Israel or just get to know you and your people.
Please call or text me at 208-301-3077 or email to klbwsalisbury@cbidaho.com.
Let’s be proactive during these days of turmoil and raise a banner of love for God’s chosen people. So many during the 1930s abandoned the Jewish people and I will not be counted among them today!
Blessings on you, my friend.
