Donald Allen Nulph, 100, passed away Aug. 22, 2024, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born July 21, 1924, in Raub, N.D., to Clarence and Clara (Veeder) Nulph.

At the age of 10, Don and his family moved to Rockford, Wash. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1942. In October 1943, Don enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He served in England during World War II as an aircraft welder, including repairing the P-51 Mustang, which was his highlight. He served for 39 months before returning home to Rockford.

In November 1946, Don married Esther Dau. They made their home in Post Falls, Idaho, where they raised their family and started dairy farming. The farm became Don’s career and passion. He was excellent at welding, building and engineering items for farm life. Don did much of the work to build and maintain the farm himself. He was a member of the Northwest Dairyman Association. He was also instrumental in the setup of the East Greenacres Irrigation District.

When not farming, he enjoyed traveling with Esther in their motorhome. Don loved horses, especially Tennessee Walkers, which were his favorites. He was an avid Gonzaga basketball fan. Don walked with the Lord. He was active in his church. He enjoyed watching Gaither Homecoming videos, listening to hymns and reading his Bible.

Don recently celebrated his 100th birthday. He had a wonderful time reminiscing with his many friends and family.
