Universes collide at Coeur d'Con

COEUR d’ALENE — Universes collided at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library on Saturday for Coeur d’Con, North Idaho’s very own version of the popular Comic Con event.
Many came to the event impressively costumed as characters from their favorite movies, video games, or manga to meet with fellow fans and check out local vendors and artists.
“It’s been fun. It’s a nice time to chill and hang out with people and get away from the computer,” said Darious Caye, who came to Coeur d’Con as the title character of the animated show, “Invincible.”
For siblings Christian and Alaina Cole, Coeur d’Con is something they look forward to every year — and they’re glad the event is here to stay.
“We’ve been coming since 2018, so when Covid hit it was pretty sad,” said Alaina.
“It’s fun to meet up with people who have the same interests as you,” Christian added.
Saturday’s event was free and made possible by staff and volunteers of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.
