KUNA — Gianna Callari had 15 kills and five blocks on the day for the Vikings, who opened the Kuna Invitational with three straight wins at Kuna High.
Coeur d’Alene beat Middleton 25-10, 25-17, Vallivue 25-9, 25-5 and Mountain View 25-18, 26-24 in pool play.
“It was a good day,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “It was good to get down here and settle in. We had consistent play all day and really established our offense. We did a good job of running a well-rounded offense and just had a good day.”
Elizabeth Hardy had 25 assists, Hannah Shafer 22 assists and 17 digs, Camryn Farrar eight aces and Bridget Maiani 21 digs and seven aces for Coeur d’Alene.

SPIRIT LAKE — Amarijana Oliveri had 10 kills, Addie Archer eight kills, 21 digs and three aces for the Tigers in a 7-25, 27-25, 23-25, 31-29, 15-9 loss to the Cougars of Kalispell, Mont., at Timberlake High.
“They fought hard and battled for every point,” first-year Timberlake coach Lisa Gardom said. “We have work to do, but even though it didn’t go our way, it’s a great way to start the season.”
Isabelle Torr had 32 digs, Sophia Soumas 29 assists, Mya Reynoldson five aces, Diana Nelson nine blocks and Shae Jones five blocks for Tiimberlake, which visits Priest River on Tuesday.

POST FALLS — The Trojans were limited to two shots on goal in a loss to the Tigers in the debut of coach Caleb Calkins at his alma mater.
“We came out a little sluggish from playing a jamboree last night (Thursday) and doing some conditioning,” Calkins said. “It was a very defensive first half and they kind of broke us down in the second half.”
Post Falls travels to Sandpoint on Monday.

COEUR d’ALENE — Freshman Brooks Judd scored two goals and senior Isaac Hines had two assists for the Panthers in a season-opening win over the Vikings junior varsity at the Coeur d’Alene High Soccer Field.
Senior Owen Sharp and junior Joseph Nicklay had one goal each for Coeur d’Alene Charter, which travels to Timberlake next Thursday.

SPIRIT LAKE — Lucy Simpson recorded a hat trick and had two assists for the Tigers in a nonleague win over the Cougars of Kalispell. Mont., in the first game for new coach Logan Georgeadis.
Paige McConkey, Hassadah Davis and Naomi Beuving had two goals each for Timberlake, which hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
Georgeadis, who coached at St. George’s in Spokane the previous six years, took over for Steve Michael, who started the Timberlake program in 2008.
