SEATTLE, Wash. — Freshman Mouhamed Fadel Fall scored twice for North Idaho College in a 2-1 nonconference win over the Community Colleges of Spokane at Seattle Pacific University on Friday.
“Mouhamed put in a really big effort defensively,” NIC coach Brad Williams said. “It really led to both of his goals, and he could have had a third. We really put in a really big defensive effort, which I knew was a weakness in our scrimmages last week. When we didn’t have the ball, the work to get it back was great to see. It’s just about coming together and being on the same page.”
Kael McGowan, a sophomore from Post Falls High, had three saves for NIC, which plays at Skagit Valley today at 2:30 p.m.
First half — 1, NIC, Mouhamed Fadel Fall (Amani Contreras), 35:00. Second half — 2, CCS, unknown (penalty kick), 55:00. 3, NIC, Fadel Fall (Lorian Ertz), 70:00.
Shots on goal — NIC 15, CCS 4.
Saves — NIC, Kael McGowan 3; CCS, unknown, 11.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — The Cardinals fell to the Apaches of Douglas, Ariz., in a nonconference game at Western Wyoming Community College.
“We didn’t play the game we thought we would today,” NIC coach Kellsi Parson said. “We looked good defensively for 70 minutes. They made a ton of adjustments and kind of came at us and we didn’t adjust for a while. We went to a high press, but it was a little too late. It was definitely a learning lesson for us.”
NIC (1-1-0) faces Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., on Sept. 2.
