Idaho Department of Education announces Moore as director of North Idaho Regional Support Center

Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield has announced a new hiring in support of North Idaho’s educational communities. Wendy Moore has joined the department as the director of the North Idaho Regional Support Center. 

“I’m pleased to be bringing an experienced educator on board who can offer support and solutions for our North Idaho communities,” Critchfield said. “Wendy combines the background needed to get the job done with a community-oriented approach to providing the supports educational communities need to thrive. I’m happy to have her in the department.” 

Moore began her career as an educator 30 years ago in Michigan. She spent 11 years teaching at the elementary level before making the jump from classroom educator to elementary principal and superintendent, roles she served in for 21 years. She has served as Idaho Region 2 superintendent president for nine years and sat on the Idaho Association of School Administrators’ governing board. 

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to leverage my skills to support Idaho’s schools, districts and students,” Moore said. “It’s an honor to give back to Idaho’s communities, and I’m excited to see what’s possible.”

The North Idaho Regional Support Center provides resources and assistance to educational communities located in regions 1 and 2. Educators and administrators of all levels can access dedicated advice and resources in one convenient, one-stop-shop. Local education agencies also benefit from regional support in eastern Idaho. Each regional center’s goal is to provide resources to districts that are tailored to the unique needs of Idaho’s many educational communities.

“I hope that North Idaho’s educational communities will tap into the amazing resources that the Regional Support Center and Wendy have to offer,” Critchfield said. “Bringing in the right people for the job has been a major priority for me since taking office, and I’m confident that with this hire we have made a great choice for Idaho students.”
