Budget adoption, insurance on tonight's Community Library Network agenda

A potential budget adoption and insurance presentation are on tonight's agenda for a special meeting of the Community Library Network's board of trustees.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Post Falls Library, 821 N. Spokane St. 

Trustees are expected to take a 1% operating budget increase. Taxing districts in Idaho are allowed by law to increase their budgets by a maximum of 3% and levy additional property taxes to fund those increases. The board did not take any increases in 2023 and finalized a budget of $8.4 million last budget season. The 2025 draft budget worksheet, which was included in the Aug. 15 meeting packet and can be viewed at communitylibrarynetwork.net, is at just over $7.9 million.
