REPUBLICANS: Stance changed on unwed mothers

J.D. Vance’s proposal to give a parent an extra vote for having a child can be seen as a change in the Republican Party’s thinking. Not too long ago Republican Vice President Dan Quale criticized television character Murphy Brown (played by Candice Bergen) for portraying an unwed mother. Having a child out of wedlock was not a good role model. Now Republican Vance proposes rewarding Murphy Brown’s behavior with an extra vote on election day.
