PREP GOLF: Focke medalist, Viking boys and girls claim team titles at Highlands

POST FALLS — Coeur d’Alene freshman Ben Focke shot a 1-over 73 to earn boys medalist honors at the Post Falls Invitational at The Highlands Golf Course on Tuesday.
Coeur d’Alene, in its season opener, won the boys team title with a 309. Lewiston was second with a 337.
Sandpoint’s Alexa Tuinstra was girls medalist with an even par 73.
Coeur d’Alene also won the girls team title with a 322.
“Our golfers played pretty consistent today,” Coeur d’Alene girls coach Jeff Lake said. “Couple of things to clean up, but a great start by both groups.”
Area teams will compete in the Lake City Invitational on Aug. 29 at the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club.
