| August 20, 2024 1:00 AM

Toby Neil Banks, 50, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away suddenly Aug. 10, 2024, in a tragic car accident. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened.

Toby was born Feb. 16, 1974, to Richard and Kathye Banks in Yreka, Calif. He was the eldest of two brothers. Toby grew up in Fort Jones, Calif., and graduated from Etna High School in 1993.

Toby had a lifelong passion for anything with wheels, which guided his various career choices. He met his wife, Mindy, in 1999. The pair married in 2001. They moved to Idaho in 2002 and have called it home ever since.

Toby embodied Christ through his love and service to others. With a genuine and welcoming personality, he was a stranger to no one and connected to people of all ages. Toby loved telling adventurous and embellished stories. He was creative, generous with his time, and could fix anything. For those who knew and loved him, his contagious smile and laugh will never be forgotten. He will be profoundly missed.

Toby is survived by his devoted wife, Mindy; his mother, Kathye; brother Lance and his wife, Jaime, and their children; his in-laws, Larry and Beci Bodmer; brother-in-law Nat Bodmer and his wife, April, and their children; extended family and many dear friends. Toby is preceded in death by his father, Richard, and aunt Cyndi Barger.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Real Life Ministries North Campus, 30447 N. Roughstock Road, Athol, ID 83801.
