Pamela Kay Read, 67

Pamela Kay Read, known by her friends and family as Pam, passed away Dec.18, 2023, at the age of 67, after a lengthy illness in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born July 28, 1956, in Lorain, Ohio, to Charles Allen Read and Ethel Vivian Russell.

She moved with her parents and siblings to Tucson, Ariz., when she was a teenager. In 1992, Pamela moved to Las Vegas and was hired to work at Treasure Island Casino on its opening day. Wanting something different, Pamela eventually relocated to Coeur d'Alene to be closer to her daughter and her beloved grandchildren. Always seeking personal growth, she pursued her dream of helping others and became a Certified Nursing Assistant after returning to school.

One of Pamela's proudest accomplishments was cruising to Europe and exploring the beautiful city of Rome. Pamela had a passion for painting and expressed her creativity through her artwork and musical talent. She found solace and joy in attending church and sharing her love for Jesus. Before her passing, Pamela was baptized in the Catholic church, deepening her spiritual connection.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Ellen Dukeman, Kathy Elam and Robert Read. She is survived by her daughters Melissa Lee of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Jennifer Cadwell of Athol, Idaho; her grandchildren Jeanna, Breann, Alexander, Zoey, Zander and Zaden; her sisters, Carol Price, Cynthia Roberts and Dawn Ann Read, along with her brothers, Thomas and James Read. Pam also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her cherished dog, Captain Jack, who brought much love and companionship into her life.

Pamela Kay Read will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, artistic talent and unwavering faith. Her dedication to her family, love for God and desire to serve others will forever be cherished. 

A private family service has been held.
