Arzner, Anain 

top finishers 

in annual Coeur d’Alene Crossing 


Adam Arzner was the top overall finisher in Sunday’s Coeur d’Alene Crossing, finishing the 2.4 mile swim from Arrow Point to the Hagadone Event Center in 47 minutes, 41.20 seconds.

Pema Anain, who was the top female finisher in the recent Long Bridge Swim, was the top overall female in 48:24.70.

Maggie Sobek was the top finisher in the 1.2 mile swim in 35:03.10.

A total of 142 athletes competed in the full swim, with 64 finishing the half.

Gonzaga, Arizona State

 finalize home and home hoops series


Gonzaga and Arizona State agreed to play in men’s basketball in each of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, the schools announced on Wednesday.

It will be the first all-time meetings between the programs. Arizona State will play its first season as a member of the Big 12 Conference this season.

Television and game time information will be released soon.


Washington State men’s 

basketball

sets remainder of 

nonconference slate


The Washington State men’s basketball team announced its remaining nonconference schedule for the upcoming season, completing its 2024-25 schedule for the year. The Cougars will tip off coach David Riley’s tenure at WSU with three-straight home games before road matchups with Iowa, Nevada, Washington, and Northern Iowa.

 The 2024-25 men’s basketball season begins Monday, Nov. 4, as the Cougars host Portland State at Beasley Coliseum. WSU plays four of its first five games at home with top-60 NET opponent Bradley (Nov. 8), regional rival Idaho (Nov. 11), and Northern Colorado (Nov. 18).

Previously announced nonconference matchups include a trip Nov. 15 to Moline, Ill., to face Iowa in the Quad Cities Hoops Showdown, a trip to Spokane to face Eastern Washington, Nov. 21, and a trip to Palm Desert, Calif., to face Fresno State and SMU or Cal Baptist in the Holiday Hoops Invitational.

 The Cougs take on Nevada on Dec. 2 in Reno. Wazzu will face Boise State, Dec. 7, at Idaho Central Arena for the second time in three seasons, before returning to Beasley Coliseum for the final home nonconference game against Missouri State, December 14.

 Washington State’s nonconference slate concludes with a trip to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies Dec. 18, followed by a neutral site matchup at The Orleans in Las Vegas against Northern Iowa, Dec. 21.

 The Cougars’ WCC campaign begins in Portland, Saturday, Dec. 28.
