Voyles wins 40th Coeur d'Alene Triathlon

Scott Voyles of Hayden was the top overall finisher in Saturday’s Coeur d’Alene Triathlon, winning the event in 2 hours, 8 minutes and 17.9 seconds.

Voyles, who was the top local finisher in June’s Ironman 70.3, finished the 0.93-mile swim at City Park in 28 minutes, 8.6 seconds, then the 25-mile bike course along Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive in 1 hour, 21.4 seconds and the 6.2-mile run on the Centennial Trail along the Spokane River in 37 minutes, 34.9 seconds. Voyles was third last year.

This year marked the 40th year of the event.

Daniel Amann of Spokane was second in 2:09:05. 

Alexa Turzian, 36, of Hailey was the top female finisher— 10th overall — in 2 hours, 28 minutes and 24.5 seconds.

A total of 502 individuals and 16 relay teams competed.
