Fred and Gloria Powell

68th Anniversary

Fred and Gloria Powell married Aug. 4, 1956, and now Aug. 4, 2024, are still together and going happy and strong!

Both born and raised in Oklahoma, and after their wedding, they made their way to Fred's new job in newly created Los Alamos, N.M. Created by Dr. Oppenheimer of Atomic Energy fame, Fred and Gloria lived and worked in Los Alamos for the next 14 years, where both of their children were born.

Fred accepted an appointment on the Mexican border in 1970 with a new job with U.S Customs for eight years and then transferred with family to Calgary, Canada, and lived there for 11 years, the last year enjoying the Winter Olympics in that beautiful city and country.

Then discovering on home leave and retiring, they came to beautiful Coeur d'Alene and have lived here for the last 36 years.
