Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho receives $11,000 grant from Lowe’s

HAYDEN — Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho recently received an $11,000 grant from Lowe’s to help repair homes in Kootenai County.

With the support of the grant, Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho will provide repairs to three homes through the affiliate’s A Brush With Kindness home repair program.

“We work with families to identify the most important repair needs for their home,” said North Idaho Habitat Executive Director James Casper. “Some services may include house painting, yard cleanup, accessibility, critical repairs and weatherization.”

The funding from Lowe’s is part of a two-year, $6 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International to support home repair and preservation efforts in owner-occupied homes. 

This year, funding will enable 110 local Habitat affiliates to complete 295 projects and impact nearly 700 families across the U.S. Since 2003, Lowe’s and Habitat have worked together to help more than 18,000 people build or improve a place to call home.
