Man arrested on $100K DUI warrant

COEUR d’ALENE — A man is being held on $100,000 bail after he was charged with driving under the influence for the third time in two years.

Andrew B. Inman, 34, is charged with driving under the influence, a felony, driving with a suspended license and two counts of injury to a child, all misdemeanors. 

Police pulled Inman over the night of July 3 because his taillights were off, according to court records. He was driving with two children in the vehicle and had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.108, according to court records. In Idaho, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher constitutes impairment. 

Inman was initially cited and released for a misdemeanor DUI charge, as well as driving with a suspended license. Prosecutors said the officers who pulled Inman over did not realize at the time that Inman had recently pleaded guilty to his second DUI offense in two years. 

Court records indicate that Inman pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in June of this year. In that case, a witness had called police after observing Inman weaving in and out of traffic in Post Falls, according to court records.

Last January, Inman also pleaded guilty to a DUI charge from 2022. 

Under Idaho law, a third DUI conviction within 10 years can constitute a felony and carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. 

In court July 5, prosecutors asked a judge for leave to amend the latest DUI charge to a felony and to issue a $100,000 warrant for Inman’s arrest. The warrant was necessary, prosecutors said, because “he’s going to kill someone.” 

Judge Anna Eckhart agreed to issue the warrant. Police arrested Inman on Friday.
