Alan R. Ferris, 68

| August 1, 2024 1:00 AM

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Alan Ferris announces his passing July 22, 2024, from complications from lung cancer.

He was born Jan. 25, 1956, in Ruiship, England, to Marvin and Olga Annette Ferris while his dad was serving in the Air Force. Alan proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, retiring as a Master Chief. Upon retirement, he went to work at NIC in the maintenance department. He retired from there in 2018.

He was a good, kind man who didn't let his soft side show very often. He could fix almost anything and was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending as much time as he could at our place "up north."

He is survived by his loving wife, Coleen, daughter Staci (Kris) King, Renee (Chad) Blood, Cheryn (Steve) Tudor, and Reg (Kitty) Rutan. Grandchildren Kendra (Marlyn) Thomas and Kaleb Croble. Tyler Blood, Haden Tudor and great-grandson, Arthur Blood. Brothers Mike (Elaine) Ferris of Spokane, Andy of England, Lee and Tony, sister Suzie, mother Anne, all of Scotland. Preceded in death by dad Marvin Ferris and favorite uncle Dick Ferris, and his precious fur babies, Bailey, Max and Pic.

At his request, no services will be held.
