HEADLINE: Reader takes issue with wording
Words matter. The words chosen for last Tuesday’s headline “Supreme Court lets Idaho enforce transgender care ban” makes it sound like the big bad Supreme Court has allowed Idaho to abandon the care of children who think they are the opposite gender of their birth.
“Gender affirming care” is a euphemism for child abuse and gender mutilation. Gender affirming care SHOULD refer to the gentle caring psychological and spiritual help given to these misguided children. But those people who are charged with their care and well-being and protection have an unexplainable drive to permanently harm them instead.
Why not headline the front-page article with “Supreme Court allows law preventing harm to children to prevail” instead? THOSE words reflect the Idaho values which created this law. Thank God there are some states which still retain some sanity in the care of our children.
