ARTICLE: Key questions unanswered

| April 26, 2024 1:00 AM

On April 12, The Press published an article based on a press release by Panhandle Health District. The article states that in 2023 PHD tested 292 individuals for lead in the bloodstream “that live within the boundaries of the Bunker Hill Superfund Site.”

This information is essentially meaningless unless the public is informed of:

1. Where in the test site the individual resided,

2. The levels established,

3. The amount by which threshold limits were exceeded,

4. Whether the test subjects exhibited any of the symptoms of lead exposure, and

5. Whether exposure was due to lead exposure to the Bunker Hill Superfund Site or the numerous other factors listed such as fishing and shooting.
