| April 24, 2024 1:00 AM

Anthony Harry Beard was born in Bellefonte, Pa., on Aug. 18, 1946. He passed away April 14, 2024, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He was a hard-working, fun-loving, caring, protective and amazing man who opened his home and heart to all. He served four years in the Army and was deployed to Vietnam for 13 months, where he earned a Purple Heart, a Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge. Vietnam is where he was exposed to Agent Orange, a poison, from which he contracted Parkinson's Disease and was a contributing factor to the cause of his death.

He was a loving, devoted husband of 55 years, a father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Dena, children Kandis Hagadone and her husband, Taj, Scott Beard and his wife, Anna, and his five grandchildren, Trace, Koraline, Finley, Rowan and Declan. Anthony Beard was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Geraldine Beard.

A “celebration of life” will be determined at a later time.
