Edward Warren announced he will seek election to the office of Shoshone County clerk.

He’ll square off against fellow Republican candidate Lori Osterberg in the May 21 primary election.

Warren serves on the Smelterville City Council. He said he works in bookkeeping and real estate, overseeing financial accounts of multiple companies and serving as a compliance officer for entities reporting to the Idaho Real Estate Commission.

“As Shoshone County continues to grow, I believe my experience in this field will be a valuable asset to the county in ensuring that monies entrusted to the county by the taxpayers are monitored, managed and budgeted appropriately,” he said in a news release.

Through his experience as a city council member, Warren said he’s gained experience with government.

Warren, who taught high school classes at Silver Valley Christian Academy for nearly four years, said he has family roots in the Silver Valley. He also directed the Dare to Imagine Summer Camp for the better part of a decade.

Warren currently is the worship director at the Worship Center and oversees youth ministries.

“If elected, I plan to leverage my passions in working with others to bring integrity and excellence to the Shoshone County courthouse in order to maximize our county’s resources,” Warren said. “I believe that it is time for the next generation of working professionals in our community to embrace civic responsibility and work together to support each other in order to make our county a better place to live, work and retire.”
