FREEWAY: Accept this trash challenge
I live in Post Falls and drive on the freeway pretty much every day. I have been so grateful for the cleanup crews that have been working to pick up the trash (I believe the crews are made up of people doing community service).
What I don’t understand is why people driving on the freeway think it is a good idea to just throw their trash out the windows. It’s a beautiful trip from Post Falls to Coeur d’Alene and beyond, but it’s difficult to focus on the trees and vistas when the trash is all over the ground on both sides of the freeway.
How difficult would it be for each person driving a car to have a trash bag in the car that they use for their trash? Why do people not honor and respect our environment?
I want to challenge other residents of Kootenai County to dispose of their trash in a responsible manner.
