SWAT team, police search for stolen guns in PF

Two search warrants were executed Thursday afternoon in connection to recent auto burglaries in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene.

The Kootenai County Regional SWAT Team and Post Falls Special Response Team searched properties at the 3700 block of East Third Avenue and the 4900 block of West Lemonwood Lane in Post Falls around 2 p.m.

Post Falls police reported the search warrants were the result of a multi-agency investigation with Coeur d'Alene police. The warrants were for evidence related to several auto burglaries in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene. 

"During those burglaries, firearms were stolen from vehicles," the press release said.

Both search warrant locations were secured by the respective teams and turned over to investigators. More information will be released later, police said.
