The junior shortstop/pitcher hit a grand slam and drove in eight runs in the second game of the Timberwolves' softball sweep of Post Falls last Tuesday. For the day, she was 5 for 9 with three runs scored. "Layla is such an asset to our program for so many reasons," coach Jordyn Hensley said. "If we need a hit, I know that she is going to get the job done. If we need her to pitch, she's going to go in and find a way to beat hitters. She plays with focus, confidence and an attitude that can't be beat — that alone makes her a tough out."
