RACISM: Not hard to connect dots
What a horrible face a few radical dimwits put on Coeur d’Alene and North Idaho. The almost unbelievable treatment given to our honored guests, the University of Utah basketball team competing in the prestigious NCAA Basketball Tournament in Spokane.
A couple of thoughts occurred following shock of such hateful, despicable acts.
I can’t help but wonder why law enforcement wasn’t nearby at the time. With the obvious potential for problems given the unique situation, recent focus on traffic noise and speed in the downtown area, and the unfortunate past history, known and reported nationwide, or Neo-Nazi groups causing unrest and violence in this area.
The very disturbing other thought — the anger, hate and violence has been gaining velocity not only in North Idaho but all across the nation for the past several years. Our former president continually rails against all of our pillars of democracy, condones violence, threatens anyone who disagrees with him and exhibits vulgar and crass behavior toward and within our courts or law and all of the officials, including the judges and attorneys.
Could be a connection?
