ISSUES: One superb, the other a monstrosity
I would like to make two comments that have been on my mind.
1. I am in total agreement with the editorial from The Press regarding our medical services in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls. I truly hope our residents realize what outstanding professionals we have in our area taking care of us.
My husband and I are blown away at the expertise, compassion and professionalism of our health care providers. They are all truly amazing.
We come from a big metropolitan area that was in fact in the middle of a large biotech research center. There were excellent hospitals, but they don’t hold a candle to Kootenai Health. We have experienced the gamut, from the ER, surgery, cancer center, primary care docs and all the pharmacies (especially Kootenai Specialty) in-between…oh, and Panhandle Health. What wonderful, wonderful people we have caring for us!
2. I totally agree with Joan Woodard on the building of the Marriott hotel. It can only be described as an ugly monstrosity.
Check out the new Town Place Suites by Marriott right off the 90. It is so very ugly! None of the new construction being built seems to fit in with this area. We have a beautiful lake, conifers and mountains. It is rustic and rural looking. What is with all these contemporary buildings that look like they need to be in Tomorrow Land at Disneyland? They are ugly!
The only thing I can think of is the pared down buildings are cheap to construct. What about the architects? Have they lost their minds? All the charm and uniqueness of North Idaho is going to be gone. Please stop it.
