Roger Ray Lobdell, 85

Roger Ray Lobdell, 85, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side Sept. 11, 2023. Roger was born in Spokane, Wash., on March 8, 1938, to Stanley and Irene Lobdell.

Roger attended Newport High School. He joined the Navy and four years later, in 1959, Roger met the love of his life, Lillian Lobdell. They married in 1960 and had five sons: Rocky in October 1962, Scott in April 1964, Doug in April 1965, Anthony in April 1967 and Troy in March 1971.

Roger worked for the Bunker Hill Mining Company in Kellogg, Idaho, for several years and decided he wanted to spend more time with his family so he started a career as a driver/salesman at Snyder’s Bakery. He worked there until he retired in 1994.

Roger and Lil primarily raised their boys in Coeur d'Alene, where he coached their sports teams and always brought life to the party. He always had stories to share, was willing to devote his time and loved to go on adventures. His other hobbies included his favorite card game, pinochle, deer hunting and riding his beloved Honda Valkyrie.

Roger is preceded in death by infant daughter LoriAnn Lobdell and sons Rocky Lobdell and Scott Lobdell.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Lobdell, son Doug Lobdell (Monte), son Tony Lobdell and son Troy Lobdell (Stacey). He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Rachel Plue, Colton Lobdell, Aubrey Lobdell, Trenten Lobdell, Cole Martin and Analisa Martin. Plus two great grandchildren, Lilly and Kynlee Plue.

Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.
