Kroc Center to host dyslexia speaker series

COEUR d'ALENE — The Salvation Army Kroc Center is hosting a panel of expert speakers during Dyslexia Awareness Month.

The Inland Northwest Dyslexia Alliance will address a range of dyslexia-specific topics, including:

Oct. 4 — Dyslexia 101 (targeted at the public)

Oct. 11 — Overview of the INW (for caregivers)

Oct. 18 — Dyslexia in the classroom — elementary, middle school and high school (for teachers)

Each free program begins at 6:30 p.m.

Dyslexia is a condition of neurodevelopmental origin that mainly affects the ease with which a person reads, writes and spells, typically recognized as a learning disorder in children.
