| September 15, 2023 1:15 AM

RATHDRUM — Two weeks later, Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland played another barnburner, this time at Hawk Court.

And just like back on Aug. 29, Coeur d’Alene prevailed again, winning 25-21, 25-22, 29-27 in an Inland Empire League match Thursday night.

“We served aggressively; we got them out of their offense,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “We had a strong block tonight. Our girls were consistent on getting to the pins, and hitting around their blocks.”

Olivia Naccarato had seven kills and four blocks for Coeur d’Alene (11-2, 2-1 IEL). Paisley Goings had nine kills, Gianna Callari seven kills, Gia Janke four blocks, Gracie Legg 13 digs and three aces, Alexa Stavros 12 digs, Lizzy Hardy 16 assists, Bailey Jaworski 14 assists.

Alyssa Ryckman had 11 kills and 15 digs for Lakeland (9-4, 2-2). Lila Kiefer added 10 kills and 17 digs, Ella Terzulli 19 assists, Olivia Zazuetta 18 assists, Addy Hocking 17 digs, Ziya Munyer five blocks and three aces.

“Coeur d’Alene played scrappy, and picked up a lot of our tough hits,” said Lakeland coach Kelsie Badger, whose Hawks lost 16-14 in the fifth set to the Vikings in the first (nonleague) meeting. “Lila had a great night and made some really smart plates when we needed it. We never seemed to get in rhythm tonight and that killed our momentum.”

Earlier, Coeur d’Alene beat Timberlake 25-13, 25-7, 25-10. Hardy had 18 assists, seven digs and three aces, Jaworski 10 assists and three aces, Goings five kills and three aces, Angela Maiani seven kills, Janke six kills and two blocks, Legg 10 digs, Stavros seven digs.

For Timberlake, Isabelle Torr had eight digs, Jozee MacArthur six assists.

Earlier, Lakeland defeated Timberlake 25-14, 25-13, 25-16. Kiefer had 11 kills and three aces for Lakeland, Landree Simon 10 kills, Ziya Munyer eight kills and five blocks, Zazuetta 18 assists and three aces, Terzulli 12 assists, Hocking 13 digs.

For Timberlake (2-5), Amarijana Olivieri had nine digs, MacArthur six assists, Linley Howard three kills.

On Saturday, Coeur d’Alene travels to Lewis and Clark in Spokane, Lakeland plays a tri-match at Post Falls, and Timberlake hosts a tournament.
