PATTERSON: Misrepresents facts

| September 15, 2023 1:00 AM

Anne Patterson has shown in her many submissions to The Press, and in her rantings on Facebook, a loose connection to reality. Her latest opinion piece reveals she continues to propagate conspiracy-based rhetoric.

I know Tarie Zimmerman, Brad Corkill and Christie Wood to be highly principled individuals who are wholly committed to ensuring NIC students receive a high-quality, affordable education. Unlike the KCRCC board majority, Zimmerman, Corkill and Wood are conscientious, conservative stewards of the taxpayers’ money.

Patterson’s accusations against these highly respected community servants are not based in reality.

In contrast to Patterson’s claim, an effort to rezone NIC property into a university zone has been suggested to protect the college’s property from being used for anything but an educational institution.

Unlike another fabricated claim by Patterson. The four local human relations task forces filed the complaint with the NWCCU, not Christie Wood. A complaint that has proved to be justified.

Let me say that again. Christie Wood did not file the complaint. Fact is, as president of the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations, Wood actually recused herself from the effort to bring NIC board governance back into compliance with required standards.

Brent Regan having posted Patterson’s agenda-driven rant on his Facebook page with the heading: “Ann nailed it!” tells us much. Regan and Patterson are both gaslighting you. Common sense has nothing to do with Regan’s posting.

Patterson and Regan, both, have a history of projecting and misrepresenting reality and clouding facts with their messages in order to serve a misguided agenda.

Remain diligent to not be fooled by misrepresentations of facts by these two and others.
