POST FALLS — Senior Alexa Sheppard recorded a hat trick and added an assist for Coeur d’Alene Charter in a 4-2 win over the Timberlake Tigers in an Intermountain League match at The Fields on Wednesday night.

Sheppard notched her third score of the game on an assist from junior Agnes Nordstedt, giving the Panthers a 3-2 lead in the 57th minute in a rematch of a 2022 state 3A opening round match won by Timberlake.

“Timberlake has some great talent and speed,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “Both teams played well tonight. We had a gameplan and executed it well the first 20 minutes, but fell away from it and Timberlake punished us for it, putting in two goals in the first half. We recommitted to our plan, and shook off some nerves to control most of the second half. I’m so proud of our perseverance of coming back from behind.”

Paige McConkey and Elli Smith scored first half goals for Timberlake (5-1, 4-1 IML), which hosts Stillwater Christian of Kalispell, Mont., on Saturday.

POST FALLS — Owen Sharp had a goal and two assists, all in the second half for the Panthers, who scored four straight goals to move past the Tigers in an Intermountain League match at The Fields.

Timberlake has a lot of good players on their back line.”
