Sara Rodriguez announced her candidacy for a seat on the Post Falls School District board of trustees.

“Rodriguez’s commitment to the community, extensive experience and unwavering dedication to education make her an excellent candidate for this vital position,” said a news release announcing her election bid.

She has served on the Post Falls School Board by appointment since 2022.

“It is a role she has embraced with enthusiasm and dedication,” the release said. “Her time on the board has allowed her to gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the school system, further motivating her to step forward as a candidate for the upcoming trustee election.”

Rodriguez has served on the board of Post Falls Junior Tackle and Cheer since 2012.

“Her dedication to youth sports and extracurricular activities has helped shape a positive environment for countless young athletes,” the announcement said.

Rodriguez said that as a proud mother, she understands the importance of a quality education. Her son attended Post Falls schools from kindergarten through graduation. During his high school years, Rodriguez was an active member of the booster club and Post Falls Football Moms.

In spring 2021, when the Post Falls School District’s levy election failed, Rodriguez was one of founding members of Citizens for Post Falls Schools.

“Her deep ties to the community played a major role in the successful passage of the levy in May of 2021,” the announcement said.

Professionally, Rodriguez is a project manager for Valley Science and Engineering, a consulting company specializing in managing water resources for agriculture and industry. She oversees a $500,000 budget and works with companies and government regulators to develop beneficial solutions.

“Her skills in these areas will benefit the school district,” the news release said.

“I believe that support of the Post Falls School District is fundamental to strengthening our community,” Rodriguez said in her candidacy announcement. "My experience on the board and involvement in the community provides me with the skills necessary to be an effective trustee.”
