TownPlace Suites by Marriott Hotels to open in November

The TownPlace Suites by Marriott Hotels will open about the end of November where the Outback Steakhouse restaurant was in Northwood Center Court southeast of the intersection of Interstate 90 and Northwest Boulevard.

The four-story building will offer 83 rooms and suites (some dog friendly) with amenities including a pool, hot-tub, fitness room, a lobby area for gatherings and a quick-breakfast area.

Cascadia Pizza Co. coming to Rathdrum

With 100% wood-fired, Neapolitan-inspired products, a Cascadia Pizza Co. is "coming soon" to Rathdrum.

Located at 8083 W. Main St. (at the corner of Mill Avenue), the location is Cascadia's fifth with others starting in the Seattle area in 2015. It should open in the spring with indoor and outdoor seating and take-out.

Local owner Raffi Peltekian uses high-quality flour that is grown and milled locally. His mobile vehicle is active at outdoor and social events and offers caterings for the community environment.

Other new places coming along Highway 41

Watch for new places coming to the Rathdrum area primarily near Highway 41 headed south toward Post Falls.

They include a combination gas station-convenience store (at Lancaster and Meyer Road) and a Silverlake Automotive near McDonald's at the highways 41-53 intersection, a Metro Express car wash and the Cascadia Pizza Co., mentioned above.

Wellness Bar opens Riverstone location

The Wellness Bar is opening a new location Monday, Sept. 11 in Riverstone. They will be offering their cold, pressed juices, acai bowls, smoothies, ginger shots and more at a shop next to the Culinary Stone, 2133 N. Main St., Coeur d’Alene.

Hours are Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• A new pizza place will be in the former Syringa building on Fourth Street.

• It's weird how squirrels run across the road right before your vehicle gets there. They impress other squirrels.
