Paul R. Wagner announced his candidacy for the Post Falls school board.

“Mr. Wagner brings a wealth of experience, a deep connection to the school district and a passion for education that will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of the Post Falls schools,” said a news release.

Wagner is a resident of Post Falls for over 40 years.

He “has always had a strong commitment to the educational well-being of our community,” the release said.

His wife, Sharon, served as a teacher in the school district for 25 years. All three of his children “proudly graduated from Post Falls High School further cementing his family's connection to the district.”

Wagner has served on long-range planning committees, PTOs, the booster club and senior parents committees. He is also a member of the Post Falls Lions Club and St. George’s Parish Knights of Columbus.

“In addition to his family's strong ties to the district, Wagner brings a wealth of professional experience to the table,” the release said. “Now a retired forester, his hard work and years of experience helping to manage company owned timberland led to healthy and productive forests.”

Wagner served as a fire commissioner for Kootenai County Fire & Rescue, “demonstrating his ability to successfully work with labor and administration. These experiences have equipped him with invaluable skills that will serve the school district well,” said the release.

"I have witnessed the great work that the district has done and would be honored to serve on the Post Falls School Board," Wagner said in the release. "Our schools have played a pivotal role in my family's life, and I am committed to ensuring that every student in our district receives the best possible education. I look forward to working collaboratively with my fellow board members, administrators, teachers, parents and the entire community to uphold and enhance the educational standards of our district."
