'Play That Goes Wrong' opens tonight at Lake City High
Theater-goers, prepare for an evening of hilarious mishaps and slapstick comedy when Lake City High School's “The Play That Goes Wrong” opens at 7 tonight.
Chaos ensues as the Cornley University Drama Society attempts to stage the murder mystery “The Murder at Haversham Manor." The only problem: Everything that could possibly go wrong does. Misplaced props, forgotten lines and actors who can’t help but break character are the least of these actors' problems.
"Out of all the plays I’ve seen and been in, ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ is absolutely without a doubt the funniest, stomach-hurting-from-laughing play," said Lake City student Blake Lewis, who plays "Chris."
"I’m so honored to be a lead in it," Lewis said. "High school theaters aren’t even supposed to present this particular version we are putting on because it is ‘too technical and stunt heavy,’ but look at us anyway!”
Lake City student Evelyn Bennett, who plays stage manager "Annie," described the play as “an exciting, fast-paced show for everyone involved.”
“The Play That Goes Wrong” is directed by theater teacher Daniel Bell.
The play will be in the Lake City High auditorium with shows at 7 tonight through Saturday and Wednesday through Oct. 28 at 6101 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.
Purchase tickets online at troupedewolfe.org or at the box office. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors and $6 for staff and students with ASB cards.
