Blatt endorsed by former acting secretary of defense

Former Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller has endorsed Matt Blatt for election to the Zone 3 position on the Coeur d’Alene School District board of trustees.

"Matt is a man of enormous personal integrity and moral and physical courage. I relied on him for the most complex and difficult missions when we worked together in the military. I'm enormously humbled and honored to have the opportunity to support his continued service to our great nation," wrote Miller. "Change doesn't come from Washington, D.C. The spirit and essence of America is in the hardworking towns of America like Coeur d’Alene. Without hesitation or equivocation, I most strongly endorse Matt's efforts to bring sanity, accountability and discipline to your community. He will serve the people of Coeur d’Alene with distinction, empathy and character."

Miller was the final secretary of defense under President Donald Trump, serving from Nov. 9, 2020, until Jan. 20, 2021.
