Hiring event Wednesday in PF

The Idaho Department of Labor will host a hiring event with more than 60 employers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls.

The average wage of job postings in North Idaho is up 14.5% compared to last year, according to Idaho Department of Labor regional economist Sam Wolkenhauer. With more than 1,600 openings listed in Kootenai County, job seekers will have opportunities during the hiring event to visit with 65 area employers who are seeking workers. Participating businesses include Ace Moving and Storage, Grand Canyon University, the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, CLC Restaurants, Serengeti Care, Idaho Central Credit Union, ATC Manufacturing and more.

Top industries in need of workers include administrative and support services; hospitals; food service; ambulatory health care services; and professional, scientific and technical services.

Participating employers are looking for painters, mechanics, insurance agents, welders, data analysts, engineers, cooks and delivery drivers, among many others.
