Inland Northwest Opera announces 'Don Giovanni' cast

| October 6, 2023 1:00 AM

Inland Northwest Opera has finalized its cast for the upcoming production of Mozart’s "Don Giovanni."

The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Bing Crosby Theater.

Heading the cast in the title role is internationally acclaimed Mexican-American bass-baritone Richard Ollarsaba. Known for his "meltingly smooth bass-baritone," Ollarsaba represented the USA at the 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.

In the role of Giovanni’s servant is another bass-baritone, Matthew Burns. Burns returns to INO after his debut in the title role in 2022's "Don Pasquale." Celebrated for his versatile musical and comedic talents, Burns was recently praised by Opera News for his "vocal and comedic flexibility" in the role of Leporello in "Don Giovanni" at Detroit Opera.

Also returning to INO, in the role of Donna Elvira is mezzo-soprano Emily Fons, who was last seen locally playing the title character in INO's 2021 "Orfeo ed Euridice."

Jadrian Tarver will sing the role of Maesetto. Tarver is an assistant professor of applied voice at Gonzaga University.

Chicago-based soprano Alexandra LoBianco and tenor Robert Stahley round out the cast.

Maestro Dean Williamson will return to lead the Inland Northwest Opera Orchestra.
