COEUR d'ALENE RECREATION

Basketball registration: Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department registration for 3rd–5th boys and girls basketball leagues will take place through Oct. 13. Fee is $40.00 for city residents and $45.00 for non-city residents. Register in person at the Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department, located in City Hall at 710 Mullan Ave., or at teamsideline/cdaid.

Kids are placed on teams according to the schools they attend (if a coach volunteers from that school). Games and practices will be weeknights and Saturdays at local schools. Practices will begin around Oct. 26 or thereafter. Games will begin after Nov. 8 and run through December.

Coaches and sponsors are always needed.

Registration for 6th–8th boys and girls basketball will take place Oct. 16-20. Fee is $40 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents.

Red goals were scored by Jackson Martin (2), Colin Happeny (2) and Xavier Sousley (1). White goals were scored by Mitchell Volland (6) and Elijah Cline (1). The Gold team went undefeated and took first place in the Gold Division, scoring 17 goals over the weekend and allowing only 3 goals. Courtesy photo The Timbers 2013 boys took two teams (White and Black) to the Glacier Surf Premier Cup in Whitefish, Mont., last weekend, with the Black team taking silver medals, and the White team taking third place. The White team lost only to the tournament champions, and tied Helena Arsenal 1-1 and the Black team 3-3. The Black team also lost to the tournament champions (Albion FC from Sandpoint), but beat the Helena Arsenal 6-1 to earn the bid in the finals. Albion defeated the Black team 4-0 in the championship match. Goal scorers for the silver medalists were Oliver Clark (4), Shane Staeheli (2), Luke Baune (1), Jasper Meyer (1) and Keaton Knoll (1).
