PREP SOCCER: Trojans blank Lewiston in finale

POST FALLS — Sophomore forward Brady Navarette scored an unassisted goal in the 37th minute to lift the Post Falls Trojans past the Lewiston Bengals in an Inland Empire League match at The Fields at Real Life on Saturday.
Post Falls (5-7, 3-6 IEL) kept Lewiston without a shot on goal.
“Our defense played really well tonight,” Post Falls coach John Mueller said. “We had Gio (Carlino) and Makoa (Wheldon) in the center and Malachi Chafin, Hunter Lloyd and Miles Muggleson in the back. Those guys really played great and kept us dangerous on offense to keep the ball in their end. It was nice to see something we’ve been working on come to fruition.”
Post Falls will play at Coeur d’Alene in the opening round of the 5A Region 1 tournament next Saturday.
Lewiston (1-12-1) opens at Lake City next Saturday.

MOSCOW — Junior forward Kason Pintler had two goals and an assist for the Vikings in an Inland Empire League win over the Bears at the Moscow School District Community Playfields.
Junior midfielder Keaton Gust had a goal and assist for Coeur d’Alene (9-3, 7-2 IEL), which hosts Post Falls in the opening round of the 5A Region 1 tournament next Saturday at Viking Field.
Moscow is 2-9-1.

The teams will meet again next Saturday in Lewiston in the opening round of the 5A Region 1 tournament.
