Cynthia Green, 76

| October 1, 2023 1:00 AM

Cynthia Catherine Green, 76, of Spokane Valley, peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Cynthia was born Sept. 11, 1947, in Linton, N.D., to her parents Vincent and Isabella Wolfe. She took on a motherly role early in life being the oldest of five children. Her parents moved their family to Kellogg, Idaho, where she met and married Gary Green in 1963. Cynthia and Gary had two sons, Gregory and Derrick Green. Gary and Cynthia later divorced, although after the dust settled they remained friends.

Her sons were very dear to her. Cynthia was a proud mother; her sons were successful in both business and building beautiful families. Gregory and Derrick always lifted her spirits and knew how to make her laugh. They brought so much joy to her life.

Cindy always loved clothes and fashion, there was no shortage of style in her closet. Her love for clothes started at a young age when she spotted a Bobbie Brooks outfit in a store window that her dad bought for her. Cindy began a career working in retail sales that eventually led to her owning Audrey’s Boutique in Spokane, which she sold upon her retirement.

Cynthia was an exceptional cook, baker and hostess. Cindy had a gift for preparing fabulous food and dishing it up like you would see on the cover of a magazine. Not only did her food taste great, her company and the way she lit up the room were the real treat. Her recipes will be passed down and the love she created will live on in the kitchen.

Cynthia was a devoted fan of Gonzaga Basketball, never missing a game. The one thing she loved more than Gonzaga was Jesus. Cynthia was an important member of a group of women called The Prayer Sisters. They met weekly to pray for family and friends forming everlasting friendships.

Cindy was generous, loving, humble, compassionate, down to earth and full of life. She was a hardworking woman who put her all into everything. Cindy was always looking for opportunities to spread the love of God wherever she would go. A way to honor Cindy would be to pay it forward and help people who are struggling; be God’s hands. She was devoted to her friends and family and is going to be deeply missed by everyone who was privileged to have known her.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Isabella Wolfe.

Cynthia is survived by her sons, Gregory (Alison) Green and Derrick (Terry) Green; grandson Kellen (Alison) Green and great-granddaughters Elliot and Finley Green; granddaughter Kayla (Zane) Castles and great-granddaughters Lucy and Millie Castles; grandsons Rhett Green and Tyler Bolen; and granddaughter Dany (Josh) Fore and great-grandchildren Adalynn and Wesley Fore.

Cynthia is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Teresa) Wolfe, and three sisters, Jolene (Don) Wilkinson, Mary (Jeff) Scarlett and Debbie (Kurt) Rhodes.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Valley Fourth Church, 2303 S. Bowdish Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.

Romans 12:11-13: Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual passion, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Rest in heaven, sweet angel, one day soon we will see each other again.
