Diane Holley, 77

| November 22, 2023 1:00 AM

With great sadness and broken hearts, we share with you that Nov. 4, 2023, following a short illness, our mother, Diane Holley went home to the Lord. Diane was born July 23, 1946, in Turlock, Calif., to Arthur and Jerri Wood.

While growing up on the family farm, she attended local schools until her dad’s job took them to Fresno and then later to Stockton, Calif.,  where she graduated from Stagg High School in 1964. Following high school, she started working at Stockton Savings and Loan, where she saved her money to buy a 1964 Pontiac GTO. Diane loved to take her car to a local drag strip and show off her skills. Diane married her first husband, Larry, and together they had their daughter, Terri. In May 1971, Diane met her soulmate, Robert (Bob) Holley. They married six months later and were married for 42 years before his death in 2013. In 1972, their daughter, Tammi, was born and for the following 21 years, they resided in Stockton raising their girls. During this time, Diane worked for Nazarene Christian Schools and Lincoln Unified. She golfed regularly with her husband, daughter Tammi and their best friends, George and Renae Steele. She and Bob often took golfing vacations to her favorite vacation spot in Fort Bragg, Calif. In 1993, she and Bob moved to Post Falls, Idaho, and she became the counseling secretary at the high school. She remained there until her retirement in 2010.

Diane’s smile, quick wit and dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Jimmy) Martindale, Tammi (Don) Downey, grandchildren Harrison (Mercedes) Granados, Rebecca Granados, Jacob Garrett, Allie Garrett, Jesse Story and her great-granddaughter Gracie Jane Granados, her great-grandson who is due to arrive in March 2024, brother Ronald (Sheila) Wood, sister Juanita (Ed) Holley and numerous nieces and nephew.

Please join us in celebrating her life Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Following will be a luncheon at Gathered Post Falls, located at 830 N. Spokane St.
