PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lake City races past Mountain View to cap 3-0 trip

| November 19, 2023 1:15 AM

MERIDIAN — After three games in three days — all wins — in the southern part of the state, it might seem as if Lake City was in a hurry to get home.

No, it was just how they played on Saturday.

Senior Avery Waddington, who signed with Montana on Nov. 8, had a game-high 23 points for Lake City, which ran past the Mountain View Mavericks 77-45.

“We had a boatload of assists and did a good job of getting out on the break,” first-year Lake City coach David Pratt said. “We were able to get some good full-court pressure. Everyone played and scored. It was really fun to watch.”

Senior Kaliah Frazey scored 15 points for Lake City, which beat Boise and Owyhee on Thursday and Friday to open the season.

“We were so resilient all week,” Pratt said. “To have three games in a row, it’s tough. But they handled it great. The girls really enjoyed being around each other and want the best for us going forward.”

Lake City opens Inland Empire League play at Lewiston on Tuesday.

Quincy Keller scored 22 points for Mountain View (1-4).
