LOCAL WATCH: Mitchell shines for Idaho State in home win

Kolton Mitchell, a freshman from Lake City High, had 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in 20 minutes for the Idaho State Bengals (2-2) in an 83-51 win over the NAIA Northwest Eagles (1-2) of Kirkland, Wash., on Thursday at Reed Gym in Pocatello.

Virginia 62, Texas Southern 33: At Charlottesville, Va., Ryan Dunn scored 15 points, including a highlight dunk in the first half, and Virginia (4-0) eased by Texas Southern (0-3).

Blake Buchanan, a freshman from Lake City High, had five points and four rebounds for Virginia.
