Randy Hunter, 76

Randall Lloyd Hunter, 76, died at home Oct. 31, 2023.  

Randy was born in American Falls, Idaho, on June 1, 1947, and grew up on the family ranch in Corvallis, Mont. In 1964, he married Lois Moe and had two children. 

He moved to Bozeman with his family and graduated from Montana State University. After receiving his degree, he moved his family to Cave Junction, Ore., to teach high school. He was an industrial arts teacher with strong ties to agriculture and the FFA. 

In 1972, he moved his family back to Corvallis to operate the original cattle ranch he grew up on. Randy had an entrepreneurial spirit and operated several businesses in farming, ranching, timber, land development and management over his career. He retired in 2021 and lived in Marsing, Idaho, on the Snake River.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and even some treasure hunting. He would work until he was tired and play until he was bored. He especially liked his adventures with his brother, Rodney, and father Lloyd. 

He is survived by his wife, Karen Hudson Hunter, and his two sons, Kelly Hunter (Bozeman) and Craig Hunter (Coeur d’Alene). He has six grandchildren named Lo, Bianca, Jackson, Sophie, Emily and Vanessa. He has two great-grandchildren named Luke and Hallie. 

There will be a celebration of life in the late spring of 2024 in Corvallis, Mont. The funeral service is at Grace Episcopal Church in Nampa, Idaho, at 11 a.m. on Nov. 18, 2023.
