KCRCC: Bringing D.C. dysfunction to Cd'A

| November 3, 2023 1:00 AM

The Kootenai County Republican Central Committee wants to bring the dysfunction we’ve witnessed in Washington D.C.’s government to all elected offices in Kootenai County.

Look at what they’ve already accomplished.

North Idaho College remains on Show Cause status with NWCCU, meaning accreditation may be pulled at any time. Inept decisions resulted in lawsuits that NIC either lost in court or resulted in hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars in settlements. The KCRCC rated and vetted majority has not one but two lawyers, both charging taxpayers by the hour to attend board meetings, neither of whom have specializations in education law.

The Community Library Network board, with a rated and vetted KCRCC majority, is moving toward dissociating with the American Library Association, reducing services, violating state law by making decisions that state code assigns to the library director, and attempted to reject over $42,000 from closed urban renewal districts, a move described as “fiscally irresponsible."

The Kootenai County Assessor’s office under the direction of KCRCC rated and vetted candidate Bela Kovacs was unable to meet critical deadlines for completing property rolls. Experienced employees have left citing a “toxic work environment," “his incompetence of the job” and “manipulating situations to deflect blame and responsibility."

Look at the candidates and their endorsements. Those without the KCRCC endorsement are endorsed by law enforcement, emergency personnel and business leaders in our community.

The KCRCC wants to bring the government dysfunction of Washington D. C. to Kootenai County, at taxpayer expense.
